Rules

Two categories
(a) Solo; and (b) Group
No more than three entries per country may compete in either category.

Solo €10; Group €20.

Please use Entry Form FPC3 to enter this competiton.

(A) SOLO
For persons 16 years or over
A competitor is required to sing two songs. One song must be traditional. The other song may also be traditional or the competitor may chose to sing a newly composed song (music and lyrics). In this case, the entry must be in traditional mould.
A singer in this category may provide own accompaniment or be accompanied by one musician.
One song must be sung unaccompanied.
A person winning this competition 2 years in a row may not compete again for 3 years.

Prizes: Donnchadha 6 Suilleabhain Shield & €150; €80 & €60.
Winner is also invited to perform at Am Mod.

(B) GROUP
Groups shall not exceed eight persons.
Two songs may be sung.
One song must be traditional. The other song may also be traditional or newly composed (both music and lyrics). If new composition is performed the entry must be in a traditional mould.

Prizes: Trophy & €300; €150 & €75 d.

NEW SONG IN THE TRADITIONAL MODE
The adjudicators, at their own discretion, may award a prize of €150 to the
composer of the adjudged best new song (music and lyrics) provided that they are satisfied that it reaches a satisfactory standard.

To be considered for this prize, competitors must give advance notice of their intention to sing a new song, and should provide words and music with translation, and name(s) of composer(s) for the adjudicators with their original entry.
